A new aid for cargo bikes: savings of up to €650 per bike

New 2025 aid: up to €650 for the purchase or rental of an electric cargo bike

Since the September 1, 2025, new national aid is facilitating the purchase or long-term rental of electrically-assisted cargo bikes. This help takes the form of a Energy Saving Certificate (CEE) and aims to compensate for the disappearance of the cargo bike bonus.

Assistance available until 2030

The official “TRA-EQ-131” sheet, published on August 22, 2025, applies to all operations initiated from September 1, 2025... and will remain in force until August 1, 2030, normally...

👉 This gives businesses, associations and communities real visibility to plan their investments over time.
Another advantage: this aid is Cumulative with local or regional grants.

How much does it bring in?

Each new electric cargo bike purchased or rented (LDD of at least 24 months) generates 83,000 kWh cumac, or the equivalent of €450 to 600 per bike depending on the CEE market price.

Concrete examples:

• A craftsman Who buys a cargo bike → about €600 in aid.
• A small association with 2 bikes → approximately €1,100 in aid.
• A logistics company with 10 bikes → up to €5,500 in aid.

💡 By combining with local aid (often 500 to 1,500€ per bike), the rest of the expenses can become very interesting.

Who can benefit from it?

Help is only available to legal persons :

• Businesses (all sectors: logistics, crafts, catering, services).
• Associations (sports, cultural, humanitarian...).
• Local authorities (municipalities, public establishments...).

Main conditions:

• Have an active SIREN number for at least 3 months.
• Bike limit:
  • Businesses → capped on the number of employees.
  • Associations/communities → maximum 15 bikes.

Good news: all VUF Bikes tricycle and cargo bikes are fully eligible for this new EEC aid.
